I went to Christy Sports first, but one of their boot fitters was out due to “COVID protocol”, and the other was booked through the following Tuesday (it was a Saturday). So, I went to Le Feet Lab since they had availability that day about an hour from when I called. I’m a fairly advanced skier – moguls and tree runs are my usual playground. However, I didn’t even realize how my old boots were limiting me. I thought I just needed to work on my technique, but I know now that I needed better fitting boots. My new boots fit perfectly – I even went down a whole size. The difference the custom fit has made in my skiing is incredible. Not only do my skis simply go where I want them to, I also feel better and can ski for longer. I feel much more in control than I used to – I can hop off the top of a mogul, bash into another sideways, and keep going, whereas in my old boots I’d likely lose my balance or cross my skis (yikes) because the ankle was too loose. My old boots also tended to cause pain in the outside of my forefoot. I have a relatively wide forefoot, a relatively narrow heel/ankle, and pretty large calves, so this makes sense. Long story short, after going to Le Feet Lab, I can’t imagine getting ski boots fit any other way.

I went in to Le Feet Lab hoping for a fix to make my boots more tolerable, and ended up buying new boots, liners and custom insoles. Best money I’ve ever spent, no joke. I can literally ski bumps all day and never unbuckle my boots, and my boots are a pretty darn stiff flex. Plus, you will really appreciate what a proper fitting boot can do for your skiing…! If you were like me and your boots have never been quite right, do yourself a favor and go see Jackie (or Jacques, or Dan, or Garret) and love skiing again. Update: my heels weren’t staying down as snugly as I needed, so I went back in. They knew exactly what I was talking about, made a quick adjustment to the shell, and somehow I love my boots even more now than ever. The three who need them also have custom shoe orthotics from Le Feet Lab. Over twenty years, we have been to ski shops & boot fitters in Whistler, Banff, Utah, Vermont and all over Colorado. No one comes close to the talent and skills of Jacques and his daughter Jacqueline. A great value is an amount paid to purchase something you will use again and again for years into the future, so consider the properly sized and if necessary customized boots and liners you will buy from Le Feet Lab as the best ski value you will ever have the opportunity to purchase.
