I’ve been back to the shop a few times to dial in the fit and they really listen and help you get the fit you want. I have so much more control in my new boots! I went to Christy Sports first, but one of their boot fitters was out due to “COVID protocol”, and the other was booked through the following Tuesday (it was a Saturday). So, I went to Le Feet Lab since they had availability that day about an hour from when I called. I’m a fairly advanced skier – moguls and tree runs are my usual playground. However, I didn’t even realize how my old boots were limiting me. I thought I just needed to work on my technique, but I know now that I needed better fitting boots. My new boots fit perfectly – I even went down a whole size. The difference the custom fit has made in my skiing is incredible. Not only do my skis simply go where I want them to, I also feel better and can ski for longer. I feel much more in control than I used to – I can hop off the top of a mogul, bash into another sideways, and keep going, whereas in my old boots I’d likely lose my balance or cross my skis (yikes) because the ankle was too loose. My old boots also tended to cause pain in the outside of my forefoot. I have a relatively wide forefoot, a relatively narrow heel/ankle, and pretty large calves, so this makes sense. Long story short, after going to Le Feet Lab, I can’t imagine getting ski boots fit any other way.
